Just Pray there is no Sports Illustrated Cover

By Scott Allen

We all know about the Sports Illustrated cover jinx.  You know, the one where your favorite team or player, after getting on a hot streak and the one everyone is talking about, gets their cover shot on SI.  The Arizona Diamondbacks should pray, we should all pray, that doesn't happen.  This ride has been to much fun and it's just getting started.

It's bad enough the Dbacks will be the USA TODAY cover in tomorrow's edition.  Seriously though, how can you NOT ignore what has happened over the past three weeks?  All kinds of happenings.  Come from behind wins, a couple of blowouts, a couple of 1-run games - the types of games the Dbacks were losing earlier in the season.  Timely pitching, starting and from the bullpen.  Timely hitting when the game appeared to be in doubt.  The list goes on and on.

Tonight, the Dbacks, the first place Dbacks go for number 8 in a row and 14 of the last 15.  That's impressive for the Dbacks.  Heck, that is impressive for anyoneIan Kennedy (6-1)  takes the mound against the Florida Marlins Anibal Sanchez (4-1).

Let's get em' boys!
