Ian Kennedy Fails to Impress Voters, Loses 7-2 to A’s

By Scott Allen

If Ian Kennedy‘s intention was to try to impress the MLB Final Vote voters today, then he failed and failed miserably.  Kennedy clawed his way to 5.2 innings pitched but was hit all over the park, including out twice, giving up 7 ER in a 7-2 loss to the Oakland A’s on Sunday.

Everything started out ok, but by the fourth inning, things started to come unraveled for the Dbacks ace.  Once Kennedy gave up 2 runs in that 4th inning, you knew the Dbacks were in trouble, facing All-Star pitcher Gio Gonzalez.  Once again, it felt like the Dbacks let Gonzalez off the hook a couple of times, something the Dbacks have done time and again over recent time.

So, the Dbacks finish interleague 10-8.  It started 7-2, so clearly things got worse.  The Dbacks lost 3 of the last 4 interleague series.  It will be nice to get back to NL play.  Tomorrow the Dbacks face the Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee.
