Stop Wishing for Jerrod Parker

With the recent pitching issues the Arizona Diamondbacks have had, it is natural to wish for the top prospects to be hearing their names called by fans in Arizona to get to Phoenix and fast.  Some may be closer than others.  For prospect Jerrod Parker, he is further from Phoenix than others.

Parker’s name seems to come up every time someone starts to struggle with the Dbacks.  See, the problem is, Parker is coming off of Tommy John surgery.  According to report today on azcentral.com, Dbacks Vice President and Director of Scouting, Jerry Dipoto, Parker coming to Arizona this season is not an option.  He might get a shot in 2012, maybe.

I know some people will be disappointed in that statement but truly it has to be for the best.  They are trying to limit his innings.  trying to rush him to Phoenix doesn’t make sense for him right now.  I want to see him as much as the next guy, but at what expense?  I think the move to keep Parker in AA this season is the right move.
