Dbacks Now Have a Duke in the Bullpen

By Scott Allen

Looking for a savior in the Arizona Diamondbacks bullpen has been tough of late.  However, as of today, at least the Dbacks bullpen has a Duke.  Zach Duke has joined the bullpen as his starting gig has now been handed over to Barry Enright, recalled today from AAA Reno.

Duke has been anything but thrilling to watch.  It has been more thriller than thrilling with Duke since re-joining the roster at the end of May.  After his first start in Houston, it’s been all downhill for the righty.  Now, maybe he can provide some middle to long relief in a  bullpen that needs some veterans.

If Duke can’t cut it in the bullpen, and it probably won’t take too long to discover he won’t, then most likely he would be released.  I have to imagine Duke’s leash will be a very short one with just two weeks left before the trade deadline.
