Dbacks Hudson Pitches Complete Game, Hits Home Run in 4-1 Victory

By Scott Allen

Daniel Hudson.

That’s all you really need to know about today’s win over the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1 at Chase Field.  Hudson pitched his second career complete game, giving up just one run on five hits.  He he was equally spectacular at the plate.  He had two hits, including his first career home run, and had three RBI.  Ryan Roberts added the first run of the game on his 12th homer of the season.

It was pretty much another pitcher’s duel again today thanks to the Dodgers Ted Lily.  However, Hudson got the better of him in the 6th and 8th innings.  Hudson set the side down in order in both the 8th and 9th innings.

It’s another series win for the Dbacks, who didn’t start things off too well on Friday but rebounded with good pitching the past two days.  They remain 3.5 games back of the San Francisco Giants, who won in extras today against the San Diego Padres 4-3.  Tomorrow, the Dbacks start a four game series against the Milwaukee Brewers at Chase Field.
