Dbacks Start Road Trip with 6-1 Victory Over Padres

By Scott Allen

How about that Joe Saunders?  Sure, he gave up a solo home run with two outs in the eighth inning, but that’s fine.  Saunders pitched probably his best game since joining the Dbacks in 2010, pitching a complete game, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks in defeating the San Diego Padres 6-1.

Saunders has quietly become the third guy shut down guy in the bullpen.  After arough start to the season, Saunders has righted the ship and given the Dbacks the quality outings the Dbacks desperately need.

Justin Upton added his 18th home run and Kelly Johnson and Willie Bloomquist each had three hits for the Dbacks.
