Xavier Nady Fractures Hand

By Scott Allen

Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Xavier Nady fractured his hand in the 4-3 victory over the New York Mets on Friday night.  Now it appears that Paul Goldschmidt is about to get a lot of playing time.

The length of time Nady will be out is unknown at this time, however the Dbacks are going to miss his bat on the bench.  Right now they need as much veteran leadership on the bench as possible.  It was already rumored the Dbacks were possibly looking to add another bat to the lineup.  Now, that rumor may become closer to reality.

As for Goldschmidt, now he will have a shot to play everyday in the meantime.  He was able to produce a single in Friday’s night’s game after he replaced Nady.
