Dbacks Move on to Face the Colorado Rockies

By Scott Allen

The Arizona Diamondbacks face the Colorado Rockies for the last series of the season between the two teams starting today in Denver.  Wade Miley takes the mound against Esmil Rogers.  The Dbacks are holding a seven game lead on the San Francisco Giants in the National League West.

The Dbacks have won 11 of 12, including a sweep of the Rockies last week in Phoenix to complete a perfect home-stand.  The Rockies have now fallen into fourth place behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.  It seems as if the Rockies will not be making their annual September run they’ve become known for over the past few years.

The Dbacks have four of six in Denver this season, including three of four during their last visit in May.  Overall, the Dbacks have taken eight of the past nine games against the Rockies.  The Dbacks will continue to look for that pedal to finish out the race to the division title, but as we all know, in Colorado, anything can happen.  First pitch is at 12:10 today.
