The Arizona Diamondbacks are only 44 days away from pitchers and catchers from reporting for spring training in Scottsdale at Salt River Fields. They report on February 20th. I, for one, can not wait. They will have their first workout on February 21st with position players reporting on February 25th and have their first full-squad workout on February 26th.
The Dbacks have been somewhat quiet over the past couple of weeks, however you can thank front office vacations and the holidays for that. With now just a month and a half before the boys of summer come back, things will start to heat up.
The Dbacks are mostly settled at this point, however I don’t believe they have concluded their search for another veteran starter to round out the rotation. Look for something to happen there between now and camp. It could even come down to the Dbacks making a non-roster invite to camp to get a look see at someone before making a decision.
The Dbacks first game will be March 3rd against the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Fields. They will be the designated away team that day. First game as the home team will be March 4th against the San Francisco Giants. That should be fun!
