D-backs Dominated in San Fran, 6-0

The Arizona Diamondbacks weren’t able to produce any offense in a 6-0 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday evening in San Francisco.
Pablo Sandoval got the scoring started for San Francisco in the bottom of the third inning when he reached first base on an infield single, scoring Matt Cain and putting the Giants on top 1-0. Buster Posey would follow with an RBI single to left field to score Angel Pagan and extend the Giants lead to 2-0.
Marco Scutaro would help build that lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when he hit an RBI single to left-center field to score Brandon Belt and add the Giants’ third run of the evening. Later in the inning Pablo Sandoval added his second RBI when he grounded into a fielder’s choice to third base to score Brandon Crawford to put the Giants on top 4-0.

The Giants would add another run in the bottom of the fifth inning when pitcher Matt Cain reached first base on an infield single to the shortstop, allowing Hunter Pence to score.
Marco Scutaro would add the Giants sixth and final run of the evening in the bottom of the eighth inning when he scored on a wild pitch by Arizona reliever Takashi Saito.
Giants starter Matt Cain was spectacular on the evening, holding the Diamondbacks scoreless and only giving up four hits over seven strong innings pitched. He picked up his 16th victory of the season with the win.
Unfortunately Arizona starter Wade Miley did not find similar success, as he allowed the Giants offense three earned runs and six hits, while giving up three walks over four innings pitched.
Arizona will send rookie Patrick Corbin to the mound tomorrow in the third and final game of the three-game series.
