Giants Win Rubbermatch 7-3

The San Francisco Giants pounded out twelve hits and seven runs to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-3 in the rubbermatch of a three-game series in San Francisco on Thursday evening.
San Francisco Giants got started on offense in the bottom of the second inning when Hunter Pence hit a home run to deep left field, scoring Buster Posey to put the Diamondbacks on top 2-0. The Giants added another run when Hector Sanchez doubled to deep left field to score Brandon Belt and extend the lead to 3-0. Sanchez would then score on a past ball by Miguel Montero. The game would be busted wide open when Marco Scutaro hit a two run home run to left field to extend the Giants lead to 6-0.
The Diamondbacks would fight back in the top of the fourth inning when Chris Young singled to left field to plate Paul goldschmidt and Cody Ransom to cut the Giants lead to 6-2.
Arizona would add another run in the top of the sixth inning when Jacob Elmore hit a ground rule double to deep left field to plate Ransom and add Arizona’s third run.
The Giants would tack on another run in the bottom of the seventh inning when Hector Sanchez hit a solo home run to left center field, putting the Giants lead at 7-3.
Arizona rookie starter Patrick Corbin had a sub-par start, as he allowed six earned runs off seven hits over three innings pitched.
Arizona sends starter Ian Kennedy to the mound tomorrow evening as the Arizona Diamondbacks open up a three-game series at home against the Chicago Cubs.
