Heath Bell wasn’t the only member of the 2013 Arizona Diamondbacks to depart on Tuesday. Catcher Wil Nieves has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies according to CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman with terms undisclosed.

Nieves originally signed with the D’backs in August 2012 after being released by the Colorado Rockies. In 2013, he appeared in 71 games and had 195 at-bats, the second most playing time he has received in his career. He ably filled in for Miguel Montero when Miggy missed time with a back problem. Nieves put up some good offense with one homer and 22 RBI’s with a slash line of .297/.320/.369. Kirk Gibson often called on Nieves in a pinch-hitting role and he often responded with a base hit. With Tuffy Gosewisch and newly acquired Blake Lalli on the roster, it was apparent that Nieves’s days in Phoenix were numbered.

We wish Wil Nieves the best of luck in Philly.
