On the second episode of the Venom Strikes Podcast, we talked about a variety of topics surrounding Major League Baseball, and the Diamondbacks as we get ready for the 2015 season!

Pitchers and catchers report next week, and Fan Fest is next Sunday. I think I will join everybody in saying that baseball season can’t get here any sooner!

More from Venom Strikes

I started off the show updating the listeners on some Diamondbacks news, and in particular arbitration updates on Addison Reed, and Mark Trumbo.

Then in the first segment I welcomed staff writer John Tenney on the show for the second consecutive week. We talked about the Diamondbacks presence on the international market, the starting pitchers that will be available on the free agent market next winter, and the strike zone in baseball.

Next, I welcomed Ryan P. Morrison of InsidetheZona.com. We talked about the concept of optimizing a batting order, and we applied it to the Diamondbacks lineup against left-handed pitching. We also had a discussion about raising the strike-zone, and increasing offense.

It was a lot of fun, and I would like to thank all of the people who listened to the show!
