Good afternoon Diamondbacks fans and Venom Strikes readers! Diamondbacks position players have already reported to Salt River Fields, and they are getting early work in.
One observation I would like to make: I was at Fan Fest yesterday, and all of the players, especially Aaron Hill, are in really good shape. Hill looks ripped, and that is a great thing to see.
Injuries really hurt this team last season. There is no getting around that whether you believe its an excuse or not. The Diamondbacks went 8-22 in the first month of last season mainly because of injuries to Patrick Corbin and David Hernandez.
This team went .500 over the next three months, and then they lost Paul Goldschmidt to a season ending injury. This team, and in particular the offense has the chance to surprise a lot of people if they can stay healthy, and its good to see that players are making that a priority.
