2. Dodgers: 3.2 WAR (#13)
One of the Padres catchers that was traded now resides in Los Angeles with the division rival Dodgers. Yasmani Grandal is projected to be the no.1 catcher for the Dodgers this season.
Grandal is projected to be the starter by FanGraphs, however I don’t think the team has sorted out how playing time will be divided up between Grandal, and the starter from last year A.J. Ellis.
Grandal has an impact bat, and he is projected for a .327 wOBA this season, however he has never been a really strong defensive catcher.
It will be interesting to see what the Dodgers decide to do. One thing is pretty much set in stone: Ellis will catch Clayton Kershaw.
