Double A: Mobile BayBears
The talented BayBears are also 2-2 to start the season after splitting a four game series with the Birrmingham Barron’s.
OF Zach Borenstein has been the teams best hitter to start the season collecting 7 hits in sixteen at bats (.438) with a 1.096 OPS
This might be the most surprising thing about the start of the minor league season for Dbacks affiliates, but it shouldn’t worry fans: Brandon Drury is off to a slow start.
The young third basemen has just one hit in seventeen at bats. Every hitter at every level of baseball goes through a rough patch so this is noting to fret about. If he starts to have extended struggles than it might be time to be worried.
Pitching wise. Aaron Blair gave up 3 earned runs in 6 innings in his first start. What concerns me the most is that he walked 3 while striking out 4. That is not a good ratio.
Young RHP Yoan Lopez had a pretty good first outing pitching 6.0 innings of 2 run baseball. He threw a quality start and gave his team a chance to win.
Reliever Jeremy Sherfy gave up 2 runs in his first outing.
