1. Bullpen Getting the Job Done!

Its only one week, but so far so good for the Arizona Diamondbacks bullpen. When the starting rotation isn’t getting the job done (and we’ll get to that in a little bit), the bullpen has to be able to win you some games, and that is exactly what the Diamondbacks pen is doing.

So far in 24.2 innings, the bullpen as a unit has given up 21 hits and a 2.19 ERA with 16 K’s and 5 BB’s.

Five Diamondbacks relievers: Andrew Chafin, Brad Ziegler, Randall Delgado, Daniel Hudson, and Addison Reed all have not allowed a run.

Chafin has been really impressive. He won the last spot in the Dbacks pen as spring training came to an end, and he has embraced the long man role, and has given the Dbacks the innings they desperately need.

Who knows, maybe Chafin would benefit from staying in the pen for the rest of his career.
