The spot starter from Reno was ready at a moment’s notice and produced an admirable outing. Scheduled to pitch on Monday, Ray was soon left waiting due to rain outs. Finally, when it was all said and done, Ray was able to get on the bump on the night edition of the doubleheader against Colorado.

The 23-year old turned his season debut into a quality start. Ray pitched 6 innings, surrendered 1 run and 5 hits, while striking out 5. That’s more than expected from a young pitcher just called up from the minors. Due to Bradley’s injury the previous week, the Dbacks were in a difficult situation, but Ray sure made life easier for them.
