Yunel Escobar

Escobar spent his last couple seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays. However, he made his name during his days with the Atlanta Braves. There he enjoyed his career year in 2009 when he smacked 14 home runs and drove in 76 runs. During this past offseason, Escobar was in a couple deals that saw him end up in our nation’s capital.

So far this season, Escobar has gotten off to a hot start. He’s hitting .311 with a couple of homers and 10 RBI. Escobar is slotted at the #2 position in the batting order and will look to set the table for Harper and Co. The 32-year old is looking to reenergize his career and his short time in Washington will certainly help.
