Mobile BayBears, AA
The BayBears went 2-5 last week to drop their record to an even 22-22. As I pointed out with the Aces averaging over 6 runs per game, the BayBears could have used some of that production with a collective team ERA last week of 6.24.
As for the players, Braden Shipley continues to get handled at AA, giving up 13 earned runs in 8.1 innings during his two starts, both losses. Aaron Blair on the other hand won his lone start, giving up only two unearned runs, improving his season line to 3-2 with a 2.31 ERA and 1.08 WHIP.
The big news of the week in Mobile is the return of David Hernandez to the mound. He is on a rehab assignment after Tommy John Surgery before the start of the 2014 season. He fared well with a walk and two strikeouts in his one inning pitched.
