Life on the Farm: Diamondbacks Minor League Weekly Report

Elsewhere in the Diamondbacks minor league system, Kane County (A – Midwest League) saw the first professional start of Wei-Chieh Huang, the first player from Taiwan for the Diamondbacks. He went 2-0 in two starts, striking out 15 in 12.2 innings.

Last week, you may remember my criticism of Striker Trahan who was Strikering out (bad word play, I know) at a blistering pace. Any way, this last week saw him with 8 hits in 18 at-bats. He only managed to drop three bombs too. Would it be wrong to take credit for calling him out and lighting a fire under him? (I highly doubt he even saw what I wrote – but it is a delight to see him pick it up).

And finally, the kid I love to watch throw – Touki Toussaint. Well, he got beat up pretty well with 5 innings and 5 earned runs in his lone start last week. With that though, he still managed 6 K’s.
