If I told my Met friends at the beginning of the year that A.J. Pollock was a better player than Juan Lagares, they would have called me crazy. Even though the Mets’ center fielder is a wonderful defensive player, the best at his position, Pollock is the superior player. He is an excellent compliment to Goldschmidt, getting on a base at a 37% clip with seven home runs and 13 stolen bases. Lagares is hitting a respectable .254 but desperately needs to hike his .289 OBP.
