 Jeremy Hellickson

In a week in which the Dbacks won four times, the starting rotation was only credited with one victory. It belonged to Hellickson. His efforts aren’t going unnoticed. He’s currently on a four game quality start streak and a three game winning streak. Hellickson’s ERA has settled now to 4.88 and is only destined to decrease if his play continues.

His last outing was a 6 inning effort in which he allowed a couple of runs and struck out six batters. Hellickson’s current hot streak has quelled whispers of his demotion to the bullpen once Patrick Corbin finally returns. Instead those rumors are now Josh Collmenter’s responsibility.

Andrew Chafin

This is curious decision, right? Like I said before, the Dbacks won four times this past week. Half of those victories belong to Chain. The 24-year old rookie is slowly progressing up the ranks in the Dbacks bullpen. Chafin started three games last season, so he’s an option if the starters aren’t getting the job done.

Chafin has not allowed a run in his last seven appearances (8 2/3 innings). During that time, Chafin has collected three victories and two holds. In 2015, he’s 4-0 with a 3.41 ERA and 20 strikeouts.
