Since coming back from his foot injury at the beginning of June, Lamb has struggled mightily. In 42 plate appearance, he has six hits and two walks and did not register a hit in three games against the Padres. Meanwhile, though Aaron Hill hasn’t been an offensive dynamo so far this year (.235 batting average, .301 on-base percentage), he went 3 for 7 in his last two complete games. I’m not saying there will be a straight platoon if Lamb’s struggles continue but if he can’t muster any offense at Coors Field, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a nominal decrease in playing time for him.
