The numbers are a little cock-eyed for the 23-year old Owings. His average is down to a .235 mark with an on-base percentage of .252. Yet, for the month of June, he has hit safely in 13 of the 17 complete games he has played during the month while his average has dropped by six points. Owings has admitted that the shoulder surgery he underwent in the offseason has affected his performance on the field, according to Nick Piecoro at azcentral. It might not be until after the All-Star break until Owings picks up his offensive game.
