Expect to hear the Arizona Diamondbacks to be involved in trade rumors from now until July 31st. Given what we saw this weekend with the team trading its 2014 first round pick Touki Toussaint, we have no idea if the D’backs will be buyers or sellers. Jon Morsi at Fox Sports (via MLB Trade Rumors) tweeted that a team the Snakes were rumored to be involved with last year is at again in 2015:

If you remember, the Nationals and Diamondbacks were talking about shipping Aaron Hill to the Nation’s Capital around the trade deadline. No deal ever materialized and the Nats traded for Asdrubal Cabrera instead. With Washington holding a slim lead in the National League East and injuries chipping away at the club, a trade for a veteran like Hill would make sense. He’ll be motivated to get a return trip to the playoffs and he could give Anthony Rendon and Danny Espinosa breaks down he stretch.

As for Arizona it would be the shedding of yet another large contract, one with $12 million dollars on the books for 2016. The crowded middle infield is getting ready to be jammed. Don’t forget that Philip Gosselin, another 2B/SS who was the return in the Toussaint deal, will be back around the All-Star Break. Is Mr. Hill finally on the way to Washington? Check back with venomstrikes to find out.
