Mike Bolsinger (4-2, 2.95 ERA, 55 K) vs Allen Webster (1-1, 6.46 ERA, 9 K)

The transaction term that I found was “purchased from Arizona” when it came to Los Angeles’ acquisition of Bolsinger. He was drafted in 2010 by Arizona and signed with them. Bolsinger made his MLB debut with the Dbacks in 2014, where he went 1-6 with a 5.50 ERA in starts. The 27-year old sure has turned it around in Los Angeles.

Due to string on injuries to starters in the rotation, Bolsinger received an extended look by the Dodgers and he’s delivered. However, he’s currently mired in a three game stretch that’s seen him go fewer than 6 innings in each contest. His last start was a 4.2 inning performance in which he received a no decision.

Bolsinger vs Dbacks (Career) 1-0, 7 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 8 K

With Patrick Corbin‘s rehab assignment in Reno nearly over, it appears that Webster’s time in Arizona is coming to a temporary close. If Corbin isn’t ready yet, Jhoulys Chacin and Aaron Blair have both proven to be worthy of a shot with Arizona. Webster simply hasn’t taken advantage of his opportunity, maybe someone else will.

After three starts, Webster has yet to go 6 innings. Webster’s last start came against the Colorado Rockies in Coors Field. He went 4.1 innings and surrendered 6 hits with 5 runs (3 earned). After showing promise in his first start (a 5.2 IP, 2 run victory against San Francisco), Webster has yet to prove anything. He’ll have a chance to do so against the team that drafted him back in 2008.

Webster has never faced the Los Angeles Dodgers.
