Is Salty’s time with the D’backs almost up? With the Rule 5 stipulations in place for Hernandez, it is hard to imagine the Snakes carrying three catchers for very long. Saltalamacchia has been better with the D’backs than he was with the Marlins in 2015 but he still has whiffed 21 times in only 51 at-bats. He was signed by the organization at the beginning of May and there was the idea that maybe he can be the starter at catcher once Tuffy Gosewisch went down with a knee injury. Two months later, Welington Castillo is entrenched as the #1 guy and Salty is in danger of being waived for the second time in 2015.
