So how does a first-time All-Star celebrate his selection? Hopefully, by helping his team end the first half with a bang. Pollock had a great homestand and is hitting .417 over his last five games with three extra base hits and a couple of stolen bases. In fact, with 10 home runs and 18 steals, Pollock has a chance at the 20-20 mark, numbers that you don’t see very often in today’s Major League Baseball. His batting average is back over .300 after dipping below that magic number toward the end of June.
