3-Yovani Gallardo

The 29-year old right-hander was traded from Milwaukee to Texas in January. After a sluggish first two months, Gallardo has been throwing darts over his last six starts. He has not allowed a single run over his last 29 1/3 innings and has not surrendered a run in five of his last six outings. The D’backs know all too well about his capabilities. He takes the ball in tonight’s opener with a lifetime record of 7-1 with a 2.12 ERA in 11 starts vs. Arizona.
