4-Chris Owings

Is he showing signs of busting out of his season-long slump? Owings went 5 for 14 in the series against the Rockies with a double, two runs scored and two walks. Perhaps he is just starting to get his swing ironed out after the adjustments that were made following offseason shoulder surgery. However, he still strikes out a frighteningly high rate with 76 whiffs in 283 plate appearances. It helps explain why his on-base percentage hasn’t been over .300 all season.
