2-Nick Ahmed

The D’backs’ rookie shortstop’s bat is starting to catch up to his outstanding glove. His batting average touched the .250 mark earlier in the week after being at .150 on May 12th. Ahmed is hitting .313 with a .368 on-base percentage and three home runs over the over the past month. He has hit in six of seven games in July and in the two game sweep of the Texas Rangers this week, he went 3 for 8 with two runs scored. Ahmed had a couple of misadventures on the basepaths over the last seven days and with runs being at a premium against Met pitching, he can ill afford any mental mistakes.
