The D’backs’ 2nd round pick in 2014, the 19-year old left-hander had himself quite a week. MLBPipeline put Reed on its Team of the Week based on his 12 shutout innings over two starts. He also struck out 18 batters and walked only four as the Single A Hillsboro Hops took both contests. In five starts for the Northwest League Hops, Reed is 3-1 with a 1.65 ERA. In 27 1/3 innings, he has allowed only 17 hits and eight walks while fanning 33. With another dominant start this week, will Reed be moving up the ladder?
