At this time last week, fans of the Arizona Diamondbacks were feeling good. They had just took two games in Texas to finally get to .500 after 13 attempts. Then they came to New York and watched their pitching get lit up to the tune of nine home runs by a formerly inept offensive team. The D’backs were swept to complete what had been a pleasant first half up until those last three games. At 42-45, Arizona is 7 1/2 games behind the first place Los Angeles Dodgers and five games out of the second wild card

Into town come the San Francisco Giants, the same team the D’backs opened the season with in April. San Francisco is 46-43, having swept the Philadelphia Phillies before the break. The Giants are 4 1/2 games behind the Dodgers and two games in back of the second wild card. Arizona has gotten the better of San Fran in 2015 with a 7-3 mark against the Champs including a three game sweep at AT&T Park in June. Here are the five players to watch this weekend as we finally resume regular season play.
