I have a soft spot for the All-Star second baseman as he went to my alma meter, St. John’s. Panik batted twice on Tuesday, striking out in the seventh inning and lining out to end the game. Leading up to the break, the 2nd year man had eight hits in his previous 22 at-bats including a 4 for 6 outing on Friday night. Panik has clobbered Snakes’ pitching in 2015 with 14 hits in 38 at-bats and a .390 on-base percentage. For the season, he has seven home runs and 33 RBI’s, batting .308 with a .372 OBP.
