Arizona Diamondbacks: 5 Players to Watch 7/20-7/26

The D’backs’ closer hasn’t had much activity recently. He pitched two shutout innings in Friday night’s extra-inning loss, his only action over the past ten days. Ziegler’s ERA is now a paltry 1.13 in 40 innings. It is a waste that his teammates haven’t given him any leads to protect. With a reasonable contract for 2016, expect Ziggy’s name to be mentioned a great deal over the next two weeks. If the D’backs expect to contend next year, it would be a huge mistake to deal him now unless they get the proverbial offer they can’t refuse.
