When the Arizona Diamondbacks woke up exactly two weeks ago, they were riding high, relatively speaking. They had just climbed back to the .500 mark for the first time since April 24th. Unfortunately, the team’s feel good moment crashed and is in the process of burning. The Snakes are 1-8 since that time and are their low water mark of the season at 43-50. To make matters worse, one of their hottest players, David Peralta was beaned last night and although it seems he will avoid a trip to the disabled list, it is a reminder of how rotten things have been in Arizona lately.

Next up for the Snakes are the Milwaukee Brewers with a record of 42-53. The Crew won their first four games after the All-Star Break before dropping a 7-5 decision to the Cleveland Indians yesterday. A number of Milwaukee players, including Carlos Gomez and Aramis Ramirez are thought to be available with the team out of realistic playoff contention. An old friend now leads the team as 2001 World Series hero Craig Counsell pilots the Brewers after Ron Roenicke was fired on May 4th. Milwaukee has gone 35-35 since the change was made. Here are the five players to watch as the D’backs wrap up their longest stint at Chase Field in 2015.
