Brock Lesnar likes to take folks to Suplex City. The D’backs shortstop has found himself in Slump City. Ahmed has one hit in his last 24 at-bats and has seen his batting average drop by 14 points in July. Thankfully his woes at the plate have not carried over to his work in the field as this highlight shows. Second baseman Chris Owings‘ and his .260 on-base percentage hasn’t been much better, leading to two automatic outs in the lineup almost every game. Hopefully, with Ahmed he has hit the proverbial rookie wall instead of living up to the tag he has been saddled with for a while: great glove, no bat.
