4-Paul Goldschmidt

Who isn’t salivating over Goldy vs. the King? Arizona’s first baseman comes into the last week of July leading the NL in RBI’s (74), walks (79), batting (.345) and on-base percentage (.462). He has five more RBI’s this season in 49 fewer plate appearances than in 2014. The Triple Crown doesn’t within reach as four players have more than his 21 home runs. However, it is entirely possible that this year will turn out with more gaudy numbers than his 2013 season in which he finished second in the NL MVP race. As much as it will be a treat for D’backs’ fans to see Hernandez pitch, it will be an equal treat for M’s fans to see Goldy for the next three days.
