Good Morning Arizona Diamondbacks fans!

The Trade Deadline is coming up this Friday and the Diamondbacks have indicated in recent days what they might want to do.

Yeaterday, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN tweeted that the Diamondbacks are talking with the Phillies about potentionally acquiring Phillies ace Cole Hamels.

Their are plenty of reasons not to like that type of move and I will talk about that in a different column.

However it’s clear what the Dbacks want to do. Despite being 8 games out in the West, and 7.5 out of the wild card, the Dbacks want to be “active”

Team President Derrick Hall appeared on Burns and Gambo on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM yesterday and said the Dbacks are looking for a player specifically a starter that is under control.

“If we’re going to do something,” Hall said, “it’s going to be for a player who is under control, a player who we think can help impact us, not so much this year but next year and the year after that and the year after that.”

Hall also said that the Diamondbacks won’t make the same mistake they have in previous years and empty the farm system. This combination severely limits what they can do.

With this in mind here are your morning links on this Tuesday!
