Randall Delgado Placed on the D.L., Addison Reed Called Up

The Arizona Diamondbacks have just announced via their twitter handle that right-handed reliever Randall Delgado will be placed on the 15 day D.L with an ankle sprain.
In a corresponding move the team has also called up RHP Addison Reed from the Triple A Reno Aces.
It’s unfourtunate because Delgado has been a important piece in the Snakes pen this season.
During the Dbacks pre game workout on the field before tonight’s game against the Mariners at Safeco Field in Seattle, he fell and twisted his ankle.
He had appeared in 41 games sporting a 4-3 record and a 2.79 ERA with 46 strikeouts in 48.1 innings.
Reed hasn’t had any success this season and it seemed every time out with the Dbacks he gave up a run. He had a 5.92 era in 25 games allowing 31 hits in 24.1 IP.
The former Dbacks closer hasn’t pitched in a game for Arizona since June 20th.
Reed has pitched well since getting sent down to the Aces. He has appeared in 11 games and has a 1.72 ERA.
For this team’s sake that has won 3 in a row and 5 of 6 and are just 3 games away from .500, let’s hope we get that Addison Reed.
Other Injury Updates:
- Wellington Castillo who was hit again in the same spot on his elbow on Monday night is getting better and is day to day.
- Ender Inciarte was tagged out hard by Mark Trumbo at 1st base but he appears to be ok.
