Yasmany Tomas grabbed the headlines in the offseason. Nick Ahmed has quite a few defensive gems at shortstop. However, it is the left-handed Chafin that might be having the best rookie season of them all. He has emerged as the most reliable man in the bullpen outside of Brad Ziegler. Opponents hit .186 off Chafin in July and he has surrendered only one home run all season. He is 5-0 with a 2.63 ERA in 42 games throwing a total of 54 1/3 innings. The 25-year old Chafin has allowed only 43 hits and 16 walks while striking out 40.
