5-Brandon Drury

You wonder if Drury would have been in Arizona if the D’backs were closer in the playoff race. Out of the four middle infielders, only Cliff Pennington has an on-base percentage above .300 at .317. Since being promoted to Triple A Reno, Drury is batting .340 with an OBP of .394 in 155 plate appearances. Granted, the Aces play in the Pacific Coast League, a place where numbers tend to be inflated. However, Dury is listed by mlb.com as the organization’s #7 prospect and the second-highest ranking position player after Dansby Swanson. If Drury keeps stroking the ball in Reno, expect him to be up in September, if not sooner.
