He is the likely front-runner in the race to win the National League MVP Award. Because of the hype that has accompanied him seemingly forever, it’s easy to forget that Harper is only 22. The Nats’ All-Star outfielder leads the league in runs scored with 69, home runs with 29, slugging at .677 and OPS at 1.135. While it seems the rest of the lineup is either hurt or underachieving, Harper has been the one constant day in and day out. He and Max Scherzer are the two biggest reasons why the Nats have spent so much time in first place this season.
