After a dissapointing series loss to the Astros in Houston, the Arizona Diamondbacks continue their longest stretch away from Chase Field this week in Washington D.C.

It wont get any easier for the Diamondbacks as they will face Bryce Harper and the first place Nationals.

At this point last year, the Dbacks were in the basement in the N.L. West. Things have changed under Chip Hale. This team is in contention for a wild card spot in August, and that means its time to scoreboard watch.

Despite being 9 games out in the division anything can happen. The Dodgers are at 60-45 2.5 games ahead of the 2nd place Giants. They will start a series tomorrow in Philadelphia against the Phillies. The Giants start a series tomorrow in Atlanta against the Braves.

In the race for the N.L. Wild Card spots, the Pirates occupy the 1st spot 4 games up on the Cubs and the Giants. The Mets are 2.5 out of the 2nd spot, and the Padres and Dbacks are both 6.5 back. That might explain why the Padres didn’t do much at the deadline.

The Padres start a series tomorrow against the Brewers, the Cubs start a critical series tonight against the Pirates at PNC Park, and the Mets start a series in Miami against the Marlins.

Watch out for how these teams are doing as you watch your Snakes tonight.
