July Reliever of the Month: Randall Delgado
I could have picked several relievers for this award. Brad Ziegler had another great month as did Andrew Chafin.
However, I am picking a guy for this award that hasn’t been talked a whole lot on this site or in the Arizona and national media.
RHP Randall Delgado who used to be a starter with the Dbacks had by far his greatest month of the season, and that is why he is the Venom Strikes July Reliever of the Month.
Here is what Delgado did in the month of July:
12.1 IP, 0.73 ERA, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 HR, 7 BB, 14 K’s, .136 AVG, .280 OBP, .238 SLG.
Opponents hit .250 in high leverage situations against him, and with runners in scoring position he held opposing hitters to a .220 average.
