Arizona Diamondbacks right-fielder Yasmany Tomas exited tonight’s game with left calf tightness.
After the offense scored 11 runs off Phillies starter David Buchanan in the bottom of the 2nd on a club record 10 hits in 1 inning, the game and another series win was in hand.
Tomas was pulled for Ender Inciarte to begin the 3rd inning, and at that point many people speculated that he was just getting the rest of the night off.
Instead he was pulled for precautionary reasons according to the Diamondbacks official twitter account.
After homering in a blowout win on Monday, Tomas contributed to the Dbacks historic 2nd inning chipping in 2 hits.
Tomas seems to be seeing pitches better as of late, and after going 0-8 in his first 3 games in August, Tomas made his 3rd straight start tonight and has his average for the year back up to .299. He leads all rookies with 32 multi hit games.
Tomas didn’t play against the Reds last weekend because of matchup problems according to Manager Chip Hale.
