Checking In On the Dbacks Top 5 Prospects: Dansby Swanson Debuts

Hopefully this will develop into a new feature here at Venom Strikes: Its time to check in with the Dbacks top 5 prospects and see how their performing on the field hoping they will join the Dbacks soon.
Note: This list is my opinion and I dont believe Archie Bradley is still a prospect. That is why you dont see his name even though he is on MLB.com’s list.
No.1 Prospect: Dansby Swanson-SS
The Arizona Diamondbacks no.1 overall pick in the 2015 First Year Player Draft made his much anticipated professional debut last night playing for Class A Short Short Season Hillsboro.
The Hops shortstop made his debut in the 3rd spot of the lineup against the Vancouver Canadians.
Swanson scored the tieing run in the sixth from 3rd base to make it 1-1. The Hops eventually won the game 3-2 thanks to a great performance from starter Tyler Bolton.
The Dbacks no.1 propect and the 12th overall according to MLB.com began his minor league career with 2 strikeouts, but walked in his 3rd at bat.
Swanson’s debut was delayed when he was hit by a Yoan Lopez pitch in the face during a simulated game. He suffered a concussion.
Dbacks fans have to be excited about Swanson who possess all the tools at the plate and defensively to succeed in the majors. He is the latest addition to a stacked farm system.
Many scouting reports believe he could make it to Phoenix by 2017, and depending on how fast he moves up the system 2016 is a possibility.
Swanson was the 2nd no.1 pick for the Dbacks in their history. Justin Upton was drafted no.1 overall in 2005.
Hopefully the former Vanderbilt standout can have as much of an impact as Upton did for the Dbacks.
