No.3 Prospect: Braden Shipley-RHP

Braden Shipley really struggled in the first half of the season for the Mobile Bay Bears.

In 17 starts from April 10th-July 8th, he went 4-8 with a 4.38 ERA in 88.1 IP allowing 89 hits, 6 HR’s, with a 60/41 K/BB ratio.

Many in the organization were concerned considering he hadn’t struggled to that extent before in his career, but he has bounced back in the 2nd half.

In 7 starts he is 4-1 with a 2.06 ERA in 43.2 IP allowing just 39 hits with 35 strikeouts. Overall for the season he is 8-9 with a 3.61 ERA in 132.0 IP.

If Shipley continues to pitch well, expect him to be promoted to Reno soon and we could see him in the majors as early as next year.
