After an up and down series against the Braves at Turner Field in Atlanta, the Arizona Diamondbacks embark on the second leg of the 10 game road trip when they face the Pirates at PNC Park.

As Guillermo Salcido pointed out in his preview of the series pitching matchups, the Pirates are currently on a four game winning streak after sweeping the first place Mets at Citi Field.

Pittsburgh owns the 2nd best record in the N.L. with a 69-46 record just behind the Cardinals (75-42), and ahead of another division rival the Cubs (67-49). The Pirates currently occupy the 1st wild card spot 2.5 games ahead of the Cubs, and 3.5 games ahead of the Giants.

If the season ended today, the Pirates would host their third consecutive wild card game. Last year they were dominated by Madison Bumgarner and the Giants in an 8-0 loss.

With that in the back of their minds, you can bet that Pittsburgh will be going for the Central Division title this year.

This series is going to be tough, and if the D’backs can leave with at least 1 win that would probably be considered a victory.

Here are 5 players to watch in this series which begins today at 4:05 P.M. MST
